Commerce

Commerce is a miscellaneous profession centered around delivering trade packs to specific merchants. Both crafting and delivering these packs costs labor granting proficiency in Commerce. Reaching 230k commerce proficiency grants the title Barter $auce giving 20 Intelligence and 10 Spirit when equipped. When crafted these packs can be picked up and put into vehicle pack slots or simply carried on a players back, slowing their movespeed.

Different trade routes have a variety of risks and reward values letting players customize the amount of risk they are willing to accept for gold. Based on your pack and route, the trader NPC you will turn in your pack to will pay you a percentage ranging from 130%-70% of each pack's set turn in value. You can check this percentage using the trade info menu (Shift-O) and selecting your route. You can view each pack's turn in value here: Trade Run Pack Values

Pack Types

There are 3 main types of packs, Specialty, Fertilizer, and Larders. Specialty and Fertilizer pack crafting recipes can be found in the folio by going to Commerce → Haranyan/Nuian Specialties.

Specialty packs can be crafted at each zone's specialty workbench, which can be found on the map by filtering Infrastructure → Specialty Workbench. Some specialty packs require Gilda Dust to craft, making them a bit more expensive, but with a unique percentage from the turn in NPC. These packs have no additional restriction on where they can be turned in any trader that accepts any other pack type will also accept a Gilda Pack.

Each zone also has a Fertilizer pack which is unique in two ways. All Fertilizer packs have the same crafting recipe, they require 25 chopped produce, 25 ground grain, 20 trimmed meat, and 50 dried flowers. Additionally, Fertilizer Packs can not be crafted at a zone's Specialty Workbench, instead they must be crafted at a special kind of player owned home called a Tradesman Manor, players must either build their own, find one set to public, or join a guild/family that has a private one.

Larders require a different crafting process than other packs. These can not be found in the folio, what can be found is a Multi-Purpose Aging Larder players must first either buy these off other players or craft them themselves. Then the larder is placed on land, filled with aging materials and let to sit for 3 days. Once 3 days have passed they can be picked up and turned in like a regular pack. The type of aging material used determines the type of larder that is produced — larders aged with milk and lemon make cheese packs, honey and straw bundles make honey packs, cultivated ginseng and olives make salves. Due to the elevated price of cultivated ginseng players generally do not craft salve packs.

Rewards

Trade packs can be turned in at three different types of merchants: Gilda Traders, Gold Traders, and Resource Traders. Gold Traders reward gold, Gilda Traders reward Gilda, and Resource Traders reward Charcoal Stabilizers. The Freedich Resource Trader gives Dragon Essence Stabilizers instead of Charcoal Stabilizers. With the exception of Freedich, gold and Gilda traders only accept trade packs made on the continent they were crafted in. Freedich gold and Gilda traders accept packs made on any continent.

Turn in values are calculated based on a couple factors:

  1. A pack's base value, this is predetermined by the game, and differs depending on where the pack was crafted, what kind of pack it was, and where the pack is being turned in. Generally the farther it is between two zones, the higher the base turn in value.
  2. Turn in percent, this modifier is applied to the base value and ranges from 70% to 130%. As players turn in packs, the percent for that pack type and origin location slowly decreases, making the packs less valuable. As time passes the percent will slowly creep back up until it is capped at 130%. The current percent at any trader can be viewed in game by hitting shift o. Its important to note that each pack type has its own percent, unique to where it was crafted, what type of pack it is, and where it is being turned in. Solis cheese larders turned in to Two Crowns wont affect the percent of Solis honey larders also being turned in to Two Crowns. The only way to increase the turn in percent is to wait.

Turn in Locations

While most Nuian and Haranyan zones have gold and Gilda traders there are 8 turn in locations that get used the most: Freedich, Solis, Villanelle, Ynystere, Falcorth, Two Crowns, Cinderstone, and Solzreed. Each zone has one turn in location with the exception of Ynystere and Cinderstone which have two turn in locations. A map of each of these turn ins can be found here Common Turn in Locations

Freedich Gold Trader

Twice daily the Freedich Gold Trader event starts spawning a Gold Trader on Freedich Island. As a general rule of thumb this trader gives the highest reward per pack of any trader in the game. However, turning in at this trader is quite risky due to being a limited time event, and the general nature of PvP on Freedich.
